Birdwatching Group: Cirl Buntings, 1 Hare, 2 Roe Deer & a Bloody-nosed Beetle.

Thursday 9th of April the Birders went to Otterton to Stanyway Farm. This has become a bit of a pilgrimage to see how the Cirl buntings are doing. And I think quite well as we saw one on a wire and then a couple over the hedge in an unplanted bare field. We may have seen the Fulmars on the cliff but without my scope I can’t truthfully confirm.
We welcomed keen birder, Mike for his first trip with us with his camera and managed a confirming shot of our first Cirl sitting on a power line. In the field below some of us saw a Red-legged partridge before it ran off and disappeared into a furrow; and other than birds we also spotted a hare and two roe deer.
The lunch turned out even better than we expected with everyone staying, having a seat on the same table.
So I think a good birding walk with a bird list of 26.
