Nature Walk Group: Seaton Wetlands.

In seach of Dragonflies and cream teas, 10 of us from the Nature Walks group visited the ponds and waterways of Seaton Wetlands.
Birds are obviously an integral part of any nature walk and in that repect we were well rewarded with what was a lifetime first for many of us, an Osprey flying along the River Axe. Unfortunately it did not come close enough for normal cameras to get a clear shot (the photo on the left is, regretfully, not one of ours).
Then, soon after the Osprey sighting, a Marsh Harrier came swooping and diving over the rushes at the edge of the river. In addition, although the tide was too high for many wading birds to be about, we did spot Ringed Plovers, Dunlin, Curlew, Little Egret, Collared Dove, Shelduck, Black-headed Gulls, Cormorants, Lapwings, and a Cetti's Warbler was heard, warblering.
As for Dragonflies there was nary a one. However there were, oddly, cream teas to be found at the Discovery Hut but in the end we all settled for just tea, coffee or hot chocolate and the odd bag of Mini-Cheddars.
