Fleet Air Arm Museum

With four exhibition halls, over ninety aircraft, more than 2 million records, and 30 thousand artefacts, the Museum is Europe's largest naval aviation museum.

It is also home to the first British Concorde, the immersive Aircraft Carrier Experience and Barracuda Live: The Big Rebuild. Explore our collection, showing the evolution of the Fleet Air Arm from inception to modern day. Enjoy exhilarating days out and experience life at full throttle

NT Lytes Cary Manor

A medieval manor house originally the home of Henry Lyte. Restored by Sir Walter Jenner in the early 20th century..

Completed in 1348, the chapel predates the manor house.

Clustered around the manor house are stables, a milking parlour and cattle houses where barn owls roost.

An Arts and Crafts-inspired garden with a collection of topiary, herbaceous borders, croquet lawn and orchard.

A 350-acre estate with farmland, woodland copses, meadows and a stretch of the River Cary.

A small tea-room with indoor and outdoor seating that serves a range of hot and cold drinks, and light snacks.

Prices

Prices include return coach travel from Sidmouth to/from Fleet Air Arm Museum & NT Lytes Cary, and entry to the Fleet Air Arm Museum and Lytes Cary (for Non-NT Members)

  • National Trust members: £36
  • Non-National Trust members: £50

Note:

  • National Trust Members will need to produce their membership cards at entry.
  • Refreshments are not included, so coffee or lunch could be taken in the café or bring your own picnic.
  • There will be the usual four alternative coach pickup points, leaving Sidmouth at about 10:00am, returning at about 3:00pm.

Reservations

  • Initially you are requested to confirm your interest in taking part in the trip, using the Organiser link at the top of this page
  • You will also be able to sign up at the March, April & May meetings at Stowford
  • Once the details of the trip have been confirmed, you will be asked to confirm your reservation and make payment.
  • Reservations are on a first come/first served basis.
  • Once confirmed by the Organiser, reservations will be held for a maximum period of 7 days after which time, if payment has not been received, the reservation will be cancelled
  • Reservations remain provisional until full payment has been received and the booking confirmed by the organiser.
  • Once a booking is confirmed, payments are non-refundable other than in the case of:
    [a] the event being cancelled
    [b] payment received after the end of the 7 day reservation period and the event being fully booked
    [c] where we are able to resell your place
    [d] extenuating circumstances, which will be reviewed and approved by the Social Committee.

    Once your payment has been received, the organiser will confirm your booking.
    Please Note: Reservations are held for a maximum of 7 days. If after that period payment is made but the event has become fully booked, your payment will be refunded.
