The group meets monthly on the 4th Thursday of the month and is open to new members.
The study sessions take the form of presentations supported by PowerPoint slides and occasional videos, with lots of discussion and study of relevant rocks, minerals, fossils, and information sources.
Study courses run from September to April/May.
Recent course topics have included:-
Life on Earth (2019/20)
Geology of Devon (2020/21)
Global Geology and Geological Processes (2021/22)
Varied geological subjects researched and presented by group members (2023/4)
In the spring/early-summer (April, May, and June) we try to organise field trips for group members.
Destinations have included Wales, the Peak District, Dartmoor, Dawlish, and the Isle of Wight.
